Porto Palácio Hotel presents the first Gastrobar open 24 hours in the city of Porto.

HUB Gastrobar is a gastronomic laboratory of contemporary cuisine, with national products and adjusted every time of the year to challenge the conviviality and the sharing of dishes in a home feeling environment.

Leading the kitchen is Chef André Silva, Portugal’s Chef of the Year in 2013, with a dedicated and talented team that helps to develop the remarkable gastronomic creations based on the best local ingredients and products that make up its seasonal menus.

OUR SUGGESTION

Chef André Silva proposes different combinations of ingredients to taste at any time of day (or night) in a Gastrobar with informal service and a wide selection of Portuguese wines by the glass.

Bar service is available every day at any time or if you prefer you can have an espresso. Informal, relaxed and contemporary concept.

Surprising is the purpose of every meal prepared by Chef Hugo Dias and the students of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Porto, authentic Food Artists, who invest the knowledge and dedication in the preparation of delicacies that awaken the senses. Throughout the year, harmonises with different national wine houses in intimate wine dinners and, on Sunday at lunch, the products of the time are sovereign to join the Family and enjoy.
Where to start?

OUR MENU

At lunch, from Monday to Saturday, the menu of the day gives the right tonality to a light meal. For dinner, surprising is the keyword for Chef and his students, authentic Food Artists, who mix ingredients like creativity, imagination and dedication into every taste experience. The artistic spirit that characterizes the concept, materializes in the absence of a fixed menu, giving rise to creative traits that surprising of singular form, working the flavors of the time in highlight, with more expression to Sunday, moment in which the Chef proposes a test with different seasonal ingredients.

THE ART OF SURPRISING THE PALATE

The School makes a difference by the skillful way it elevates the customer’s choice to the creativity of the Chefs, counting on a young and dynamic team, passionate about the gastronomy and the art of creating and surprising their dinner in two proposals:

 

Sensory Test Level 1:
Tasting of 5 experiences in a complete meal, € 30 per person

 

Sensory Test Level 2:
Tasting of 7 experiences in a complete meal, at a higher level, € 40 per person

 

Art is done at once: the sketch begins when you arrive at the table, the surprise remains throughout the meal. The Chef creates, experiences are added and the Work is born.

CHEF HUGO DIAS

A person who is calm and very attentive, two characteristics usually pointed out to Hugo Dias, Chef de cuisine of The Artist Porto Hotel & Bistro since January 2015. In the previous year he served as principal cook in the same space, having even helped in the construction of the innovative restaurant concept.

In addition to the operational management of the kitchen of the School and the creation of surprise recipes that characterize the restaurant of the Hotel-School, Hugo Dias also has as responsibility the training in real environment of the students of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Porto. “Teaching and learning with students is everyday life in The Artist. We have people of different ages and personal and professional backgrounds with whom we share knowledge and have evolved together in the art of cooking and well-being, “says Chef.

THE TEAM

The search for excellence by future professionals
In the School, each Client is a trainer: the students of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Porto work, daily, to amaze like real professionals. They invest in technique as they test the theory, question satisfaction as they trace the sketch of a unique experience at every turn.

SITTING AT A TABLE IN A GALLERY

The decoration is simple: wooden tables that are colored with the palette of gastronomic experiences, dishes and slates in which ingredients are inscribed, the transparency of the glasses in which they prove notes of proof and a light of medium intensity, warm, temperate … designed to live with the art you see, smell, taste and feel.
The School is a space with a unique personality, where relaxation, elegance and creativity come together in a harmonious and inspiring combination.

A bar is not limited to space and the B'Artist is made of a menu of original cocktails, surprising snacks and a charisma of a place with experiences. B'Artist breathes art while creating ways to appreciate it.

THE SPACE

With direct access to the modest terrace that, curiously, decorates the facade of the hotel, the B’Artist – more than a bar, is a way of being, created from the most free and spontaneous traits that an artist can have.
In an intimate, relaxed and at the same time disruptive atmosphere, the bar is a mixture of strong colors with sober notes, but is also a symbiosis of works of art and sensations.
Frames are not static. They have their own rhythm, only accompanied by the shaker in which surprising cocktails are prepared.
Cozy nooks require the company of a book, while more central places demand good background music in the company of an original snack.

“Feels like home”

The feeling of “Feels like home” is present in every detail of informal, relaxed and familiar decor.

The House offers a varied breakfast each day, with different types of bread, natural fruit juices, and the comfort of a home-made breakfast with the flavor of the region – there are daily homemade cakes and white Port Wine and red.

Cozy and relaxed, The House Bar tells the story of Port Wine served in a glass of aromas and sensations chosen from more than 60 Charter references. In the heart of the Ribeira, there are Port wines to savor or experimental cocktails. There are queijadas, homemade cakes and a home-made breakfast, so that the comfort extends from the lodging to the meals, to the breaks, to the experiences.

THE SPACE

A multifunctional and intimate area with valences of lobby, reception, bar and lounge.
In this space, breakfast is served between 7:30 a.m. and noon from Monday to Friday. On weekends and holidays it is served between 8am and noon. There is also a cafeteria service available from 1 pm to 11 pm.

THE BAR

Inserted in the heart of Ribeira and the history of Port Wine, The House Bar aims to be a reference for lovers of this nectar.

The House Bar also has a complete Port Wine List, cocktails – which include signature cocktails with Port Wine as a base – and red, white and rosés wines from various regions of Portugal.

With over 60 different Port references, here you can also enjoy some experimental cocktails such as Caipi Porto.

PORTO WINE TASTINGS

Between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m., in an informal meeting with the sharing of stories, curiosities and information about selected Port Wines, the Porto Wines events take place.
